We Have a Trivia Winner!

1. The Amazon Rainforest covers over a billion acres, encompassing areas in Brazil, Venezuela, Colombia and the Eastern Andean region of Ecuador and Peru. 

2. The correct answer was true: Unfortunately, rainforests once covered 14% of the earth's land surface; now they cover 6%.  

3. The correct answer was apples :  Rainforest foods include a number of things you might not expect: avocados, figs, tomatoes and citrus fruits; vegetables including corn, potatoes, rice, and winter squash; spices like black pepper, cayenne, chocolate, cloves, ginger, sugar cane, tumeric, vanilla; and nuts, including cashews and Brazil nuts!
